Doing Our Bit For The Environment
Here at the Pickled Walnut we take pride in doing our bit for the environment. This includes minimising energy consumption, controlling our packaging and waste disposal including material management. As part of this we ensure we use all locally produced ingredients in order to reduce our food miles and petrol consumption. It just so happens the local ingredients are the best!
We ensure all our employees are aware of the company’s ethics and all share with us our environmentally friendly attitude. It is important for the entire team to make an effort as we at the Pickled Walnut operate as a unit.
A few examples of our locally supplied ingredients include Southport potted shrimp, free range corn fed Goosnargh chicken, Bowland lamb and Formby asparagus. By using these delicious ingredients it reduces the delivery miles considerably resulting in fewer carbon emissions.
As a company one of our main beliefs is that ‘if we treat our environment, as well as we treat our customers all round everyone is a winner’
